Financial Information
At Regina Lakeview Dental Centre we believe patients prefer a relationship which supersedes the insurance company/patient relationship. If knowledge is power, then the full spectrum of treatment options should be presented to the patients, empowering them to an informed decision for their treatment.
With hundreds of insurance plans covering the residents of Saskatchewan today, it is important that you read your policy and booklet carefully to maximize your individual benefits. You must remember your policy is a contract between you and your insurance company to aid in your dental health.
- Fact#1
- Private dental insurance is NOT meant to be a pay-all, it is only meant to assist with the cost of your treatment.
- Fact #2
- Many plans tell their insured that they will be covered "up to 80% or up to 100%". In actuality, the amount your plan pays is determined by how much the employer paid for the coverage. Most plans pay about 40% - 50% of an average fee.
- Fact #3
- It has been the experience of many dentists that some insurance companies tell their customers that "fees are above the usual and customary fees" rather than saying to them "insurance benefits are low".
- Fact #4
- Many Routine, necessary and non-cosmetic dental services are not covered by insurance carriers.
Even with dental insurance, you are still responsible for the entire cost of our professional services. Your insurance policy may not cover all dental services and may only pay a portion of the total cost of your dental treatment. Payment for all professional services is expected at the time service is performed unless financial arrangements have been made prior to the beginning of treatment. Our receptionist is responsible for all financial arrangements and would be happy to discuss these with you. Our office accepts cash, debit, American Express, Visa and MasterCard. A service charge of 1.5% per month will be applied to all overdue accounts.
Dental insurance can contribute to your pursuit of dental health and we are happy to assist you in maximizing your dental insurance reimbursement.
